Author Kathy Goodhew
The love for the written word has been with Kathy via bedtime stories since early childhood. Once she learned the skill of reading, she devoured comic books about super heroes and children’s stories inspired by some of the all-time classic authors. Soon after, her interest in writing blossomed and flourished as she dabbled with creative writing projects via poetry and personal journals. Somewhere along the way, sketching illustrations came along side to add to her artistic talents, though she never considered any of it more than a hobby. It wasn't until after she remarried and retired that Kathy understood that her talents were truly gifts from God. She came to see how grateful she was to Him every time she was able to express her inner thoughts through a story, poetry, or a drawing.
Kathy cannot lay claim to higher education unless she includes the hard lessons of life and the skills accumulated from a variety of jobs tackled, while a divorced single parent raising two children. Kathy is a mother and grandmother and resides with her husband of eighteen years in Northwest Washington State in a small town where the people are friendly and everything is conveniently located, so they can tend to their garden and travel in their small RV near and far.
Long ago, Kathy’s mother wrote in her daughter’s baby book, "She seems to live in a fantasy world." Little did her mother know then how close to the truth she would someday be as Kathy began to explore writing fiction genre as an older adult. Kathy Goodhew is the author of the fantasy novel; The Hidden Ones, Awakened and most recently, of the non-fiction book; A Vision Beyond Abuse, a story of one woman’s journey through and beyond the world of domestic abuse entwined with her faith journey with God.
